Hello and welcome,
I graduated in 2007 from Manchester Metropolitan University with a first class honours degree in Three Dimensional Design. Since graduating I have set up my own studio within Bankley Studios in Levenshulme, I have exhibited my work in galleries across the uk and am currently teaching ceramics at an arts centre in Salford.
Using slip-casting, throwing and hand-building techniques I make small bottles, cups and bowls. Once bisque fired I sandblast the work to create detail, intricate patterns and delicate fragile edges. I want to encourage the user to engage with the pieces and in so doing, discover the hidden layers and meaning.
I took part in the Great Northern Contemporary Craft Fair in November at the Manchester Grammar School. It was a fantastic event and a great experience. I was awarded 'best northern maker' and my work will be published in 'Concept for Living' magazine in the new year.
If you would like to buy or commission a piece, or just have a chat, please get in touch.
Thanks for looking,
Sarah
